The «Therapeutic Contract» consists 3 main phases.
Initial Phase: Mutual Agreement
A short overview of the service that is offered, the confidentiality, the course of the sessions after addressing the issue, and the practical information, i.e. dates and meeting hours.
This is the most crucial part of a Good Therapeutic Practice in order to be successful, since the client has the right to choose the most appropriate person of being their Therapist, before an agreement.
Second Phase: Processing
The issue is addressed, discussed, processed and resolved. This phase can include more than 3 sessions.
Last Phase: Preparing the Termination. End of the Contract
At this point, the issues addressed at the initial session are now resolved and the clients are prepared to continue their lives independently. Termination of the Therapy.
